The District will provide a K-12 research-based curriculum that will encourage each student to achieve at his/her respective potential in each area of study.

Strand 1 – Curriculum: What Students Learn

Objectives

• By mid-July 2007, to design a research-based prototype curriculum structure that addresses the learning styles of and expectations for all students in grades K-12.

• By September 2008, to design and disseminate a research-based prototype social studies curriculum that addresses the learning styles of and expectations for all students in grades K-12.

• During the 2008-09 school year, subject to Board approval, to initiate the implementation of the prototype social studies curriculum in grades K-12.

All curriculum written across grade level and content area is aligned with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.
