As of September 2012 there were 5,780 students enrolled in Kindergarten through Grade 12, as follows: Burnet Hill – 430; Collins - 425; Harrison – 519; Hillside – 408; Mt. Pleasant Elementary – 426; Riker Hill – 418; Mt. Pleasant Middle – 422; Heritage – 915; Livingston High School 1,817.

Faculty/Student Ratio
There is approximately one teacher for every 15 pupils. This includes special education teachers and subject specialists in art, music, technology and health and physical education. In addition, the district has certified school nurses, media specialists, reading specialists, guidance counselors, resource center teachers, gifted & talented/enrichment teachers, and child study team members.
 
Average Class Size
The District's class size guidelines for grades K-2 is 22 students and for grades 3-12 is 25 students.  Class sizes at the middle and high schools vary greatly depending upon the subject. 
 
Transportation
Students living further from school than the following walking distances are eligible for Board of Education-provided transportation: Grades K-8, more than 2 miles; Grades 9-12, more than 2 ½ miles. Of the 524 certified instructional staff in the 2012-2013 school year:
