HMS Team Chess members made us proud at the recent Fall County Tournament. Taking home the 1st place Novice medals were Varun Maheshwari and Anish Mohan. In the Master division the 2nd place medals went to Daniel Cao and Justin Schoenbach. Nathaniel Chung and Dev Rathod took home the 3rd place Master division medals. Congratulations to all for a job well done! Seems that the "Team Chess" website is no longer available :-( Team Chess team member M.S. offers this tip for finding traditional chess tournaments to participate in: - Go to www.uschess.org - On blue left column, go to club & tourneys - Click on Umpcoming Tourneys - Click on New Jersey - Click on the month desired - Find a good tournament for you Team Chess students are reminded to bring a bag lunch on practice days. HMS Team Chess Enrichment – Mrs. Argen –Room 225 -Opened to any interested student!
Learn and practice tactics used for Team Chess, a fast paced game played with traditional pieces, but engaging four students at once. School tournaments are held bi-annually, with the top scores earning students a place on a county tournament team. We also schedule scrimmages with other districts & LHS.
