 We will begin Unit 3 of Shining Star by reading a folk-tale "The Clever Daughter-in-Law".  We will discuss the the folk-tale genre in general and how this story specifically illustrates this kind of story.  You will makes inferences about the characters, study "plot", and make predictions.  You will also have the opportunity to practice retelling this folk-tale.  Next, you will learn about "family traits" by reading an article on Mendel and the study of genetics.  You will do further exploration of this topic by doing an internet activity that focuses on genetics and Mendel's laws.  Listening comprehension will be practiced by watching a video on Mendel.  The grammar focus for this unit will be on possessives and adverbs.Vocabulary; Reading Questions;Vocabulary Part 2; Reading Questions Pt. 2;
