Welcome Pride Families!

Throughout this year I will have the great honor of teaching your child. I am so excited to help them to learn and grow! My goal is to ensure that your child recieves an opportunity to experience many different movement concepts. I will help your child gain an appreciation for low level movement concepts and sport skills.

Each month the focus of the program shifts slightly to better prepare your child for the next level. In addition, throughout the year various hoilday, seasonal, and classroom themes will be incorporated into our lessons. Some of the more memorable themes are:  Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter Wonderland, and Spring Fever!

Fitness and sport skill development are also major components of our program. Simply put, the earlier we start to develop a strong body and quality sport skill movements the better prepared we will be for our future. Part of my focus is to ensure that your child is ready for the Grade K program, this includes listening skills, and understanding of sharing and cooperation.

Often I get asked what children should work on during there family/free time, my answer is simple, NATURAL PLAY or  Authentic Play.

Natural / Authentic Play is what all of us experienced prior to the creation of "organized youth sports". It is based on backyard games, playground climbing, bike riding, hiking, and other valued family reactional activities. My view is that young children need to move freely as much as possible without the constraints of a focused outcome.
