Student Services

kidsAll Livingston Public Schools students are instructed in the same curriculum utilizing strategies and modifications to address their differing learning abilities.  To achieve this commitment to our students' education, the Department of Student Services is designed as a network of human services whereby each dimension of the overall system connects and communicates in such a way that all children with special needs are served optimally, and all parents of children with special needs are significantly involved in the delicate delivery system.

The special education system is complex and can be daunting to both parents/guardians and educators.  It is critical that parents have an understanding of the "big picture" of special education in order to effectively work with Livingston Public Schools to determine what is most appropriate for the student.

Although the people involved in the system in each school district may be different, the special education system and process is extremely similar.  The Guide to the Special Education Process will help you understand and navigate this system.

"Empowering all to learn, create, contribute and grow" is the mission of Livingston Public Schools and it is the goal of the Department of Student Services to ensure that all students are empowered.
