 Welcomes you to the 2012-2013 School Year

Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year at Mt Pleasant Middle School!  We hope that everyone had a wonderful summer vacation.  We are looking forward to watching our children learn and grow as they enter the first of their middle school years.  The HSA is committed to enhancing our children’s social and educational experience this year.  We are also looking forward to working with our new principal, Mrs. Debra Ostrowski.

Our executive committee is made up of 11 parents representing each of the 6 elementary schools.  We each have different experiences and talents that combine to produce the backbone of the HSA.  The real power of the organization, however, is each of you.  We have received a wonderful response from parents who volunteered to chair or work on committees but there is always room for more.  We encourage each of you to become a member of the HSA, attend the monthly meetings and participate in the school activities.  There is a job that will fit everyone’s schedule and it means a lot to our children when they see their parents invested in their school.

We will be planning a number of fund raisers this year such as Apparel sales, the very successful and fabulous Basket Bazaar, which is a fun night out for you and your child, and many more exciting events.  Please support our fund raising efforts as each dollar we raise goes directly back to our children.  Some of the funds will support Cultural Arts assemblies which work in conjunction of the curriculum. We provide grant money to the faculty and staff for all of the “extras” that enhance learning as well as parent education programs throughout the year.  In addition, some of the excess funds will follow our children to Project Graduation for their graduation celebration in 2019!!  

Please feel free to call or email us with any HSA questions you may have.  We encourage you to log onto our school website www.livingston.org/mpm to stay informed about school and HSA events since no paper flyers will be sent home.  We look forward to seeing you at our HSA meetings where you can get additional information regarding events and meet with the principal.
