All About Ms. Jenkins!

Hello, I'm Megan Jenkins. I am incredibly excited to be teaching preschool for the 2020-2021 school year! This is my second year teaching at Burnet Hill. While I am looking forward to meeting and learning about each one of my students; I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself outside of the classroom so that you can get to know me as well!

Past Experience: I graduated from Montclair State University in 2012 with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. After graduating I worked in Ridgewood for three years as a kindergarten teaching assistant. Next, I took a maternity leave position as a fist grade teacher in Montvale. The following school year I accepted a position in Jersey City where I taught preschool for three years. I consider myself lucky to be entering my ninth year in the classroom by continuing to teach preschool. I am luckier still that I get to do so as a Bobcat at Burnet Hill!

Family:  I live with my husband of four years, Jeff, and our miniature poodle, Penny Lane. Jeff and I both have family in the area that we see often. I have a brother named Brian and Jeff has a sister named Julie.

Pets: I have two pets. Penny is six years old and is, in my opinion, the cutest dog in the world!! Penny enjoys playing chase, snuggling, and barking at animals on TV. She has enjoyed both her parents working from home (shhhh... don't tell her I'm going back to school)! I also have a pet hamster named Lily. Lily is our class pet and usually lives at Burnet Hill. She came home with me last spring and is hoping to get back to the classroom (and away from Penny) soon.

Hobbies and Interests: I love to travel, though I haven't been able to do much of that lately. My FAVORITE place to visit is Disney World! I also enjoy crafting, cooking, staying healthy and seeing friends. I love animlas, teaching, and sparkles. My favorite thing to do is to have FUN and to be SILLY!

I can't wait to start this adventure together! See you soon :)
