All About Ms. Jenkins!

Hello, I'm Megan Jenkins. I am incredibly excited about teaching preschool for the 2022-2023 school year! This is my fourth year teaching at Burnet Hill. While I am looking forward to meeting and learning about each one of my students, I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself outside of the classroom so that you can get to know me as well!

Past Experience: I graduated from Montclair State University in 2012 with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. After graduating, I worked in Ridgewood, Montvale, and Jersey City with classroom experience from preschool through first grade. I consider myself lucky to be entering my 11th year in the classroom by continuing to teach preschool for 7 of those years. I am luckier still that I get to do so as a Bobcat at Burnet Hill!

Family:  I live with my husband of 6 years, Jeff, and our miniature poodle, Penny Lane. This year we expanded our family in April when I gave birth to our daughter, Ellie. She is the sweetest baby girl with hobbies that include tubby time, eating "fingies," goofy grins, and hearing the sound of her own voice. We both have family in the area that we see often. 

Pets: Penny is 8 years old and is, in my opinion, the cutest dog in the world!! Penny enjoys playing chase, snuggling, and barking at animals on TV. She is also settling into her role as "big sister"

Hobbies and Interests: I love to travel. This year we didn't go far because of our new baby. We did a lot of mini beach and pool trips with Ellie. Other interests include crafting, cooking, exercising and seeing friends. I love animals (of all kinds), teaching, DISNEY, and sparkles. My favorite thing to do is to have FUN and to be SILLY!
