Ms. Shannon San George

Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to 4th grade and the 2019-2020 school year! My name is Ms. San George, and I am the 4th grade special education teacher here at Burnet Hill. I am incredibly excited to begin my first year in the Livingston Public Schools. For the past eight years, I have worked all over north Jersey as a paraprofesional and special education teacher; this will be my 6th year teaching. I will be teaching pull-out resource in reading, writing, and math and will be co-teaching with Ms. Chin for science and social studies.

I recieved my Bachelor of Arts in Phsychology/Special Education from Marist College in 2010. Having a great desire to improve my professional abilities in order to best serve my students, I returned to school in fall 2015. I spent two years at Fairleigh Dickinson University obtaining Orton Gillingham Teacher certification. Since fall 2017, I have been at Montclair State University pursuing a Master of Arts in Reading and Reading Specialist Certification. I anticipate completing my degree in August 2020.

I look forward to a wonderful school year where we can learn and grow together. To my students: I would love to learn about you not just as students, but as people! I want you to know that we will be spending time to get to know each other, what your interests are, and how you learn best. To the families: you are an incredibly important and valued member of my classroom and our school community. I am eager to work alongside you in order to best help your children learn and grow.

Best wishes!

Ms. San George
