"Unprecedented Achievement:" Three Earn All-Eastern Honors
Ian Hurrel, Alex Wu, and Jennifer Zheng were selected to participate in the 2019 All-Eastern Honors Ensembles.
Three Livingston High School students were recently selected to participate in the 2019 All-Eastern Honors Ensembles. Alex Wu (clarinet) was selected to the All-Eastern Wind Ensemble, Jennifer Zheng (violin) to the All-Eastern Orchestra, and Ian Hurrel (guitar) to the all-Eastern Jazz Ensemble. All three will perform at the National Association of Music Educators Eastern division conference in Pittsburgh this coming April. To be selected for this prestigious honor, students must have previously qualified at the top of their regional and state level honors ensembles.
"It is rare to have even one student qualify for these ensembles. It doesn't happen every year for us, and some schools never place a student in these groups at all. For LHS to have three students selected in one year is unprecedented, and is a tribute to the extremely high talent level of these three individuals" said Band Director/ LPS Lead Music Teacher Michael Jedwabnik.
