Honoring Those Who Serve
As part of the LHS School Counseling department’s mission of supporting students in exploring and identifying the “right fit” for their post-secondary plans, a “Wall of Honor” was created to remember, recognize and celebrate all LHS graduates who have chosen to enter into the military and serve our country. The display, which includes art work and plaques, hangs in the hallway of the Guidance Department and currently features 84 names! The information for this project was compiled largely from graduates who have reached out to share their military experience, as well as from information collected in Naviance, an online post-secondary planning program used at LHS.
Creating the wall was a group effort, with students and teachers working together to design a beautiful tribute. The plaques were made by students in the high school’s Career Exploration program and the mural was painted by students in the LHS art program!
“Thank you to all of the students and teachers involved in creating this wonderful and honorable recognition of our graduates. A special thank you to Mrs. Loraine Morgenroth for her role as Military Liaison in the LHS School Counseling department and for developing this valuable addition to LHS!” said Sinead Crews, Director of School Counseling. “Thank you to all of our alumni who have dedicated themselves to serving our country through the military. We are honored to recognize your commitment and service.”
