Today's Summary…
Morning Meeting -We began our day with an SEL activity in which we shared about our favorite animals and pets. We love learning new things about our crew!
Social Studies- Today we continued researching for our West State Projects.
Reading/Writing: Today we continued exploring our unit on informational research. For our research essay the topic we will focus on is: climate change. Today we began to jot our sources and facts into our “Gathering Grid” in our research packet. We reviewed how to research using online sources and focused on the most important topics/questions as we read through sources.
This week’s homework was: Read 20 minutes nightly and READ chart due on FRI
Math- Today we continued in our measurement unit. We learned how to measure using customary units of weight. We discussed ounces, pounds and tons in relation to real-world objects. We even utilized balance and platform scales to calculate weights of items in our classroom.
HW: MIF sheet (p. 1 ONLY)
Science- Due to the fact that Mrs. Finan was absent and we did not have STEAM class today we began our Wild Robot STEM projects. We had fun designing a remimaged Roz robot!
**For specials today we had: PE
Word Study- We continued learning about words that end in -ly as we explored Sort 49 through our interactive sort. HW: begin sentences
