Today's Summary… 

Morning Meeting -We began our day with a Think Outside the Box Thursday art activity. We had a blast sharing our creative (not an elephant!) drawings with one another. 

Social Studies- Today we began one of our final Regions Unit activities. As geographers we are now exploring our OWN state of NJ. We learned about New Jersey’s tourist attractions, special celebrations and state symbols. Today we focused on taking notes (researching) about our state. Tomorrow, we will begin a mini-poster on why NJ should be considered the BEST state in the USA. 

Reading/Writing:   Today we continued researching and drafting for our climate change projects. Be sure you made your final project choice! 

This week’s homework:  Read 20 minutes nightly and READ chart due on FRI (4 activities- one per night) 

Math- Today we continued in our measurement unit. We learned how to measure using customary units of volume. Today we focused on: cups, pints, quarts, and gallons. We used real-world examples and measuring containers to help us understand this concept. See GC for a video and example of today’s skills. 

HW: Review sheet 

 Science-  Today we continued our Forces and Motions unit.  Today we learned about friction through a hands-on experiment.  

**For specials today we had: MEDIA 

Word Study- We continued learning about words that end in -ly as we explored Sort 49 through our interactive sort. HW: STUDY for sort test TOMORROW
