Today's Summary… 

Morning Meeting -We began our day with sharing our favorite 4th grade memories through an activity entitled 4th Grade Was a BallWe will complete this special end of year project tomorrow (as needed).  It has truly been such an amazing year!

Social Studies- Today we continued our new unit on USA Government.  We learned about rights and responsibilities of American citizens. See Mrs. Triana for this lesson’s documents if you were absent. 

Reading: Today we continued our unit on historical fiction. We learned that  historical fiction is a literary genre where the story takes place in the past. Historical novels capture the details of the time period. Today we read Chapter 1 of the class read-aloud book, Number the Stars.  We also filled a Who, What, Where, When, Why chart on our own historical fiction novels during our Book Club time today. 

 Writing:  Climate Change Essays/Projects are due! 

HW:  Critics’ Corner- be sure to read for 20-30 minutes nightly and  look at the calendar distributed this week to see which day you are sharing your favorite book

Math- Today we continued in our measurement unit. We began learning about TIME today- we will review telling time and problem solving with elapsed time. 

HW: Math Talk 

 Science- We produced questions about forces and motion as well as strategized how to use our questions. Through this QFT partner activity we explored and discovered more about balanced and unbalanced forces. We are SO excited to begin learning about ROLLER COASTERS soon!

**For specials today we had: MEDIA 

Word Study-NO Word Study today (double science instead) Reminder: this week we are working on  Sort 51-  to recognize how the suffixes -ness, -ful and -less are added at the end of a word to change its meaning. Today we completed our INTERACTIVE and WORKBOOK SORT.
