Today's Summary…

Morning Meeting -We began our day with our End of Week Reflection.

Social Studies- Today we continued our unit on USA Government.  We learned about the preamble and created illustrations that correlate to each phrase.  Please see Mrs. Triana for this lesson’s documents if you were absent.

Reading: Today we continued our unit on historical fiction. We learned that  historical fiction is a literary genre where the story takes place in the past. Historical novels capture the details of the time period. Today we read Chapters 2-3  of the class read-aloud book, Number the Stars.  We filled out a timeline for the main character’s life as well as an historical timeline. This enabled us to see how the timelines overlap and how historical events are impacting the main character of a text. We also did this  same work with our own historical fiction novels.

Writing:  Climate Change Essays/Projects are due! **We are NO longer working on this in class. Please see Mrs. Triana if  you have questions or need support to complete.

Reminder: Critics’ Corner- be sure to read for 20-30 minutes nightly and  look at the calendar distributed this week to see which day you are sharing your favorite book. This starts on MONDAY!!

Math- Today we continued in our measurement unit. We continued learning about TIME today. We learned how to read and use a 24 hour clock.

Science- Today we learned all about WORK. Work is when a FORCE is applied to an object and that object travels a DISTANCE (W= F x W). We took notes and created a diagram to help us remember this important physics vocab word.

**For specials today we had: SPANISH
