Today's Summary… 

Morning Meeting -We began our day with a fun Morning Meeting discussion all about National Candy Month. To celebrate the month of June we each shared our favorite sugary treats. We also played a 6 Pillars of Character GAME to review all we have learned this school year. We sure are becoming amazing MPE leaders!

Social Studies- Today we continued our unit on USA Government.  We learned about the Constitution. We watched the Brainpop video on this document and filled in a notes sheet. (glued into our SS notebooks). 

Reading/Writing: Today we continued book clubs for our unit on historical fiction. Through our mentor text, Number the Stars we learned that readers pay attention to the main character’s perspective in a text.  We “see” the historical events through the life of that character.   We also read our book club novels in small groups and completed “Stop and Jots”  on the characters in our text. 

 HW: Read 20-30 min nightly and be sure to look over the Critics’ Corner calendar in preparation for sharing your favorite book (you read this school year). 

Math- Today we continued in our measurement unit. We continued learning about TIME today. We learned how to complete word problems involving ELAPSED TIME. 

HW: Math Talk (Sharing) in math notebook (list of your schedule using TIME)

 Science- NO SCI today due to double specials 

**For specials today we had:  ART and MUSIC 

Word Study-Sort 52 -This week we will focus on homophones. Homophones are words that sound alike but have different spellings and meanings. Today we completed our sort PRETEST and created our individualized list for the week. **This is the LAST sort we will be assessed on through a formal test.
