• The Scientific Method
All students will understand that science is both a body of knowledge and an evidence-based, model
building enterprise that continually extends, refines, and revises knowledge. The four Science Practices strands encompass the knowledge and reasoning skills that students must acquire to be proficient in science.

    States of Matter

In this unit, students will design and construct investigations to further their knowledge of matter. Students will understand the relationships between atoms, molecules and elements.

     Ecosystems: Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics

In this unit, students will explore and model the interactions in ecosystems. Students will develop an appreciation for earth’s resources.

     Space and Space Technology
In the Space and Space Technology Unit learning that Earth operates in a set of complex, dynamic and interconnected systems.  Students using technology  are learning that forces like gravity
and motion are relative to the sizes and locations of objects in our solar system.  Additionally, they learn that
location in the solar system determines their physical properties.

    Earth History

All students will understand that Earth operates as a set of complex, dynamic, and interconnected systems, and is a part of the all-encompassing system of the universe. In this unit, students will be able to answer questions about the interactions of earth's systems. Students will use scientific practices to model earth dynamics.
