Student Council Elections COMING SOON!

Fourth and Fifth Graders interested in running for the position of Student Council President (fifth graders only) or Vice-President (fourth graders only) for the 2024-2025 school year, must complete the parent form AND the essay form that will be distributed during lunch during the first week of school... BOTH must be returned to Mrs. Szostak or Mrs. Triana by Wednesday, September 11.

A Primary Election will take place in each fourth and fifth grade classroom on Friday, September 13 to determine the candidates running in the Student Council Election.  

Once the candidates for President and Vice President have been determined, candidates will have a brief meeting to go over the guidelines for campaigning. Campaigning consists of making two posters to be hung around school and preparing a two-minute speech.

This year, speeches will take place during an assembly for grades 3-5 (the exact date will be announced soon). Voting will take place after the speeches are given. The position of the President and Vice President will be determined by the results. 

Please note that grade-level class representatives will be chosen via a homeroom election AFTER the main Student Council Election takes place. Also, we now have an amazing staff member (Shh…it’s a secret who it is!) who is our MPE lion so students will no longer be elected into that role.
