    Dear Harrison Families,

What a wonderful winding down of the year it has been at Harrison School! I can’t believe how fast this year went. I hope you have enjoyed the memories you and your families have made this year and that Harrison was a big part of that!

This week is busy! On Tuesday, June 18, our 5th Graders will be having their moving up ceremony! Parents, please reference the invitation and my message on Friday for more information as I needed to change the time to 8:30 am.

On Wednesday, June 19th, we will have our school-wide Pizza Party. All classes will watch our 5th graders try to beat our staff at volleyball and then have pizza. This event is for school staff only. Thank you to our PTA for their support!

On Thursday, June 20th, it is a tradition that the 5th graders get clapped out of the school to celebrate their final day at Harrison. For many of our students and families, this has been their home for many years! 5th Graders will be dismissed out of door 10 (2nd Grade Dismissal door) on the middle blacktop where their parents will line up to clap them out. If you are not a 5th-grade parent, please give the courtesy to 5th-grade parents to clap their children outside that door. Cones will be set up where all the 5th-grade parents are invited to line up and give our children the memory they deserve.  After the clap-out, all other students will exit through their normal grade-level doors.

It is a busy last few days at Harrison School and I will be excited to communicate on Thursday as all our families launch into summer fun!

Thank you for all your support! I hope you are having a good weekend; and Happy Father's Day to all the dads in our community!

    Upcoming Dates:

June 18 - 5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony (Changed to 8:30 am)

    Dear Harrison Families,

Parents of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-grade students, you should be extremely proud of your children! The 1st-grade students practiced and delivered an amazing performance showcasing all they learned about the organisms in the pond! Our 2nd graders sang and showcased their learning about butterflies, and our 3rd graders showed off what great storytellers they can be! These celebrations develop confidence in our students and demonstrate that hard work leads to something beautiful. Thank you, parents, for your support, and a very special thank you to all our teachers who made these celebrations something students can be proud of and remember for a long time!

We need all our library books back ASAP! All library books need to be returned by this Friday, June 7th. Mrs. Caulfield spends a lot of time making sure our library is current and well-stocked. Please help her and the rest of the community keep our library amazing!

This month, Harrison School Celebrated AAPI Month and Jewish Heritage Month in all our grade levels! Please see the books read at each grade level in the links above!  Thank you to our Equity Committee for supporting this work throughout our building!

As we wrap up this school year, it's time to place your order for school supplies. Order now and have all the supplies your child will need waiting for them on their desk on the first day of school, and you won’t need to give it another thought. As a bonus, you will be supporting the PTA at the same time. Act fast because once the sale closes on June 20th, this kit will no longer be available. There are accessories, thermoses, backpacks, and other items available, which will also be waiting on the first day. Please remember to order for the grade your child will be in NEXT year, so current 1st-grade parents should order the 2nd-grade box. See the flyer that was sent home in your child's folder for ordering information.

Our Spring Family Picnic is this Tuesday, June 4th, from 5:00-7:00 pm, and it is always a night filled with fun! Thank you to our PTA for organizing this event as always. Please see the brochure for more information. Our rain date for this event is Thursday, June 6th.

Our Field Day is this Friday, June 7th! Parents, please send students the supplies they need to enjoy this showcase of sportsmanship and fun with their classes. Please apply suntan lotion in advance of the day and ensure students have proper footwear and a hat if you want! Our rain date for this event is Monday, June 10th.

Parents of incoming Kindergartners, you should receive (or have received) an email detailing Kindergarten Visitation and Orientation details! Please complete the Google form to confirm your child's attendance!
