Hello, Hillside Families!

 

I hope that those who celebrated had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and that everyone enjoyed the long weekend!

 

Tomorrow is a Delayed Opening for students.  Doors open for students at 9:30, and they should arrive at school by 9:55 a.m.  All before school activities are canceled, lunch will be scheduled and served, and there are no changes to dismissal or scheduled after school programs.  Students must not arrive prior to 9:30, as there will be no supervision available.  Thank you!

 

Our Trustworthiness Character Pillar Unit of Study begins tomorrow.  Trustworthiness will be the character focus of the month in class and of the Student Council Assembly.  Please see page 3 of this Family Guide for information about the pillar and how you can support it at home.  Thanks so much!

 

The PTA's Winter After School Enrichment registration opens tomorrow.  Please see the calendar below for a link to the flyer with details.

 

The first marking period for grades 1 - 5 ends on Friday.  Report cards will be made available to families on Friday, December 13, after 4:00 p.m.  

 

Thursday is Picture Make-up / Group Photo Day.  Families interested in having children retake photos should send students in on that day with their best smiles.  We will also take group photos, including band, orchestra, chorus, GT groups, fifth grade musical, and safety patrol.  We will also take a fun, fifth grade class photo.  Please note that students who are not present on this day will not be pictured.  We will not schedule make-ups for these group photos.  Thanks, in advance, for your understanding!

 

The PTA's Hillside Wear Holiday Pop Up Sale ends on Thursday.  Please see the link in the calendar below for details. Happy shopping!

 

In staff news, we welcome first grade leave replacement teacher, Miss Sadowski, to Hillside School this Thursday.  Miss Sadowski will assume sole responsibility for Mrs. Pezzulo's first grade class starting the following Thursday.  Welcome to Miss Sadowski, and congratulations to Mrs. Pezzulo as she departs to enjoy her growing family! ____________________________________________________________________________

REMINDERS!

 

1)  The PTA's 50-50 Raffle began this past week.  Information went home with students and books/collections are due by Friday, December 13th.  The winner will be announced at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 19th.  Please see this flyer for information, and good luck!

 

2)  The PTA will, once again, lead a Coat Drive starting on December 2nd for those in need. Please see this flyer for information, and thank you, in advance, for your generous support!
