•                                                       welcome

Welcome to Room 5!  My name is Janice Benacchio and I am excited to be your child’s teacher this school year. Let me take a moment to share a little information about myself.

I received an MA in Education from Georgian Court University. I began my career at a private school for special needs children.  I went on to teach in a self contained classroom for five years in a public school district in Middlesex County.  Fortunately, I was given the opportunity to help develop the ABA program for Livingston in 2013 and after three years at Burnet Hill I was welcomed to Harrison School as the LLD teacher.  I am a mother of two wonderful children: a twelve year old girl and a nine year old boy.

My mission as a teacher is to instill a love of learning in each one of my students.  I will provide positive experiences each day, encourage a caring learning environment and motivate my students to strive to be their best.  In creating a child centered classroom, there will be multiple opportunities for learning from individual, small group and whole class instruction.

Just a few reminders:  A drink/snack should be bagged separately from their lunch each day.  Also please refrain from allowing your child to bring in personal items (toys, etc) from home.

Communication is very important. The best way to reach me is via email at jbenacchio@livingston.org.  I am always available to discuss any of your questions or concerns.  I am confident we will have a fantastic year full of learning and fun!  I look forward to seeing you and your child in September!

    Fondly,

    Mrs. Benacchio
