Mrs. Kimberly Ambrose
My name is Kimberly Ambrose, Riker Hill's Reading Intervention Teacher in grades K-2.
I am a proud Rutgers University graduate with a B.A. in Communication and have also acquired my Masters in Reading Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University, which then qualified me as a Reading Specialist in New Jersey. For ten years prior to teaching in Livingston, I taught a variety of grade levels from Kindergarten through fifth grade.
In April of 2015, my dog Cora and I became a pet therapy team with Creature Comfort Pet Therapy. We volunteer at local schools, libraries, and hospitals regularly. Cora brings comfort to the sick and their families at Morristown Medical Center. She visits the veterans at the VA in Lyons and helps children with their reading at schools and libraries. Also, I am a proud member of a monthly book club and you may find me knitting a scarf, hat, or sweater for a friend. I am also a proud mom of Max, born in July of 2019.
In Thank You, Mr. Falker, Patricia Polacco says, “Honey is sweet, and so is knowledge. But knowledge is like the bee that made the sweet honey! You have to chase it through the pages of a book.” Just as bees chase honey, we must chase knowledge! I hope to instill an active enthusiasm for chasing knowledge through reading. I look forward to teaching your child and working with you. Thank you for your past and continued support.
