Livingston Math Vision

It is our goal that students acquire a strong foundation in standards-based mathematics. Students will genuinely engage in rigorous tasks that foster collaboration, communication, and metacognition. Teachers will guide students in mastering and applying concepts and skills to non-routine, open-ended, and real-world problems. An emphasis on a concrete-pictorial-abstract approach will allow students to gain a deeper conceptual understanding through the use of  manipulatives, diagrams/models, and abstract symbols. Students will develop a growth mindset which will allow them to approach math with confidence, creativity, and perseverance.
