What do Library Media Specialists do?
- Teach skills that enable students to become independent and effective users of information and ideas
- Manage a facility used by students, staff and parents
- Provide a collection that is current, weeded and responsive to curricular and recreational needs of students
- Collaborate with teachers in all phases of the educational process
- Lead the way in promoting the principles of intellectual freedom
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies
- Provide intellectual and physical access to material in all formats
