  • Welcome Back From Mrs. Cebula

Posted by Stefanie Lichtstein on 8/21/2019

    Dear Collins School Families,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Collins Elementary School.  I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of education! I have been dedicated to this field for more than eighteen years and have worked with all students from grades K - 12.   I am committed to continue the legacy of success established at Collins by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners.

All of us are eager to begin what promises to be the best year ever.  As your principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students and parents-are excited to be here!  This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input.  Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.

Our 2019 - 2020 school wide theme is titled “We are the DREAM TEAM.” Teamwork is generally understood as the willingness of a group of people to work together to achieve a common goal. Our goal at Collins is for your child to thrive in a safe and supported building. We must work together to ensure that every student has the resources he/she needs to be successful. Each class is a TEAM, each grade level is a TEAM, and our entire building is a TEAM! Go Collins #TEAM!

Our PTO is also an active and integral part of our TEAM. I encourage you to participate in PTO meetings and help create enriching and memorable experiences for all of our students. This is a wonderful and helpful way to be a member of our Collins  TEAM.  Please check out https://collinspta.membershiptoolkit.com/home for more information.

There will be a scavenger hunt on August 28th from 4:00 to 5:00 for all new Collins students. This includes our new K students and any student who has not yet been in our building.   This will give our new students an opportunity to tour our building and feel a little more comfortable for the first day. There will also be a few prizes and ice pops!

Our first day is on September 4th. As in the past, we will meet on the blacktop for the first two days. At 8:05, teachers will escort your children to their classrooms. Our third day will be an indoor arrival. Students will be

dropped off by 8:00 and we will meet in the designated line for the school year. Be assured there will be plenty of staff to ensure your child is safely walked to the appropriate

    location.

Please enjoy the last few weeks of summer. I look forward to a great year.

    Michelle Welcome's Letter
