Hillside Elementary School

I am so excited to be a part of 5th grade this year at Hillside! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. Born and raised in NJ, I received my Bachelor's degree at the Saint Elizabeth University with a dual degree in American Studies and English. Directly after graduating, I completed a Graduate Education program, where I earned my certificate in Elementary Education, K-6. After earning my certificate, I moved down to Atlanta, Georgia where I taught preschool and 5th grade. Although the years I spent in Atlanta were rewarding and full of successes, I moved back to NJ and am now entering my 10th year of teaching in NJ! I also completed my Master's in Education with focus on Special Education.

 

Now, for some of the fun stuff! You will probably find me with a cup of coffee in my hand in the morning. Owls are my favorite animals and you will notice that when looking around the classroom. For fun, I like to spend time with family and friends, paint, draw, work out at the gym, and spend time outside (especially at the beach!). I really love watching movies and am a big NY Giants fan! However, reading a good book tops my list of favorite things to do. I love fantasy books, and most of all, the Harry Potter series! Roald Dahl is one of my favorite authors, and Matilda was my favorite book when I was in elementary school. We have a lot of great things planned for the school year and I look forward to all that is ahead. I anticipate another wonderful school year at Hillside getting to know all of your better!
