Mrs. Nicole Hanna

Hello! My name is Nicole Hanna and I will be your children’s special education teacher for this school year. I hope you all had a fun and relaxing summer!

I would like to introduce myself both professionally and personally. Before teaching, I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at The Catholic University of America and my Master’s degree in Childhood Special Education at New York University. This is my 9th year of teaching and my 6th year at Hillside Elementary School. My teaching experience has been primarily in Special Education. I’ve had the opportunity to teach all different types of special education programs, including Language Learning Disabilities self-contained class, Resource Center pull-out, In-Class Support, and Applied Behavior Analysis Extended School Year. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, Jake who turned one in July!

Students will be integrating into their general education classes throughout the day based on their IEPs. As a team, your children’s general education teachers and I will work together to meet the needs of your children in the classroom. This year will be filled with activities that will be designed to meet the needs of your children based on their IEP goals and the grade-level curriculum.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have!  I look forward to a great school year!
