I am so excited to be part of the 4th Grade team at Hillside School this year! I grew up in Livingston - Go Lancers! - and it is so special to teach in the wonderful school district that helped shape me. I studied Graphic Design and Art History at American University in Washington, DC. After a few years of working as a designer, I decided to make a change and turn to my love of working with children. I earned a Master of Science in Teaching Childhood Education at Pace University, and spent two years teaching in Manhattan before coming to Hillside. Additionally, I spent many summers working as a camp counselor, and have been teaching at local synagogue religious schools for many years. My top priority as a teacher is to create a warm and supportive classroom community where everyone is excited to learn, collaborate, take risks, and grow together.
Outside of the classroom, you can find me exploring my neighborhood with my husband and our dog Lily, trying out new recipes, or reading and listening to podcasts by the pool. I also love to visit art museums and watch dance performances.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all this year and to all of the fun things we have planned for 4th grade!
