BUILDING EXCELLENCE LOGOAs we head into the middle of the 21st Century with record high enrollment, Livingston Public Schools is faced with some important questions. What are the district's future facility needs? What building repairs, improvements and replacements are needed moving forward to provide our students with the best possible education? Livingston Public Schools remains committed to maintaining the legacy of excellence that attracts residents who place a high value on education and who wish to live in a community that exceeds expectations in all areas.

The district has been pro-actively planning for the future in many ways, including closely monitoring enrollment, commissioning a demographic study, working collaboratively with Township of Livingston officials, and establishing a Long Range Facility Planning Committee.

Visit the district's Long Range Facility Planning webpage to learn more about the committee, and view related presentations and press releases.

    Hello, Hillside Families!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter holiday, if you celebrated, and an awesome Spring Break!  We were excited to welcome some of our students back to school on Friday, and look forward to seeing the rest tomorrow!

As a reminder, we have a partial day of school (12:00 PM dismissal) tomorrow, Monday, April 8.  The school has purchased eclipse viewing glasses for all students, and we will distribute them before dismissal on Monday.  If you plan to observe the eclipse, please be sure to do so safely and use protective eyewear like the ones we are providing to students.  For eclipse safety information and activities, please see this choice board or this board.  Although Livingston (or anywhere in NJ) is not on the path of totality, NASA will be hosting a live broadcast along the path of totality starting at 1:00 PM, so that anyone can enjoy images of totality from different locations across the United States. More information about this broadcast is available here.  Thank you, and enjoy!

Families are also reminded that schools are closed for students on Wednesday, April 10, in observance of Eid.  Eid Mubarek to our families and friends who are celebrating the end of Ramadan!

We look forward to this week's TREP$ Marketplace scheduled for Thursday, April 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the upper and lower gyms.  Our young entrepreneurs have been working hard on their services and products, so please come support them that evening if you can!  The main entrance will open at 6:00 p.m. for customer entry.  Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you and to a successful event!

We look forward to our next Student Council Assembly on Friday afternoon, and the PTA is holding its weekly after school Bake Sale on Friday as well.

"Take Your Child to Work Day" is Thursday, April 25.  Families who plan to participate and keep children home from school that day should be sure to make a note in the comments section of the attendance portal that students are participating in the day, so that it can be marked as an excused absence.  Absences for this purpose will only be marked excused for that day only (April 25).  Thank you for understanding!

Please see Nurse Lisa's April Health Newsletter here.
