“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
-Mahatma Gandhi
My choice to pursue an educational career was based on the simple realization that very little in life is more important than learning to learn. The level of change in our society mandates an evolving learner capable of coping with change, and taking informed action. Over the years I have become more and more passionate about how people learn best, and developing strategies for helping them on that journey. I have been very fortunate to live a life of teaching and learning in accordance with my dreams and goals. My twenty seven years in Livingston offered a professionally rewarding experience second to none. I accept the LEAD award with the utmost humility and respect for the source, and share it with the multitude of mentors I have had.
It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be a member of the Livingston educational community. I am extremely grateful to the people of Livingston for providing a traditional and outstanding support system for education and learning. I am very thankful to the many students, colleagues, parents, LBOE members, and the community as a whole, for being a beacon of quality education. Livingston is a place where learning is valued highly in a natural atmosphere of continuing growth. My simple wish is that all future educators have the opportunity to be an educator in a town like Livingston, New Jersey.
