With each winter season, it's time to talk about the typical germs that abound.  Have you discussed with your child's doctor the necessity of a flu shot/flu mist?  Time lost from school, not to mention the severity of flu illness, should be strong considerations for making a flu shot an annual event for your child.  Those children with chronic illnesses such as asthma and diabetes should absolutely have their flu shots.  Will your child be visiting elderly family members who are at risk for developing complications if he/she gets the flu?  Be proactive, have you as a parent had your flu shot yet?
