Star of the Week!Each student will have a special week to be a "Very Important Person" in their class. This will be an opportunity for everyone to get to know the star student better, as well as a chance for the star to shine and speak in public. "Star of the Week" is a wonderful way to foster self-esteem as well as encourage the social development of all students. Some of the social skills "Star of the Week" highlights include:- taking turns- listening for detail- asking clarifying questions-giving complimentsWhen it is your child's turn to be the "Star of the Week," please help them to pack up some of their favorite things from home in one shopping bag and send them in to school on Monday morning. All of the items will stay in the classroom until Friday.This will be a chance for your child to share their interests. Some things your child might want to share include a favorite stuffed animal, book, movie, game, photo, drawing, ect.At the end of the week, your child will be bringing the class bear home for the weekend along with a journal to capture the fun they had together! Please help your child to complete a journal entry, which will be shared with the class the following week.
