Collins Elementary School

Homework will begin in October.  Homework is usually assigned Monday through Thursday. Please look for your child’s homework in his/her orange Homework folder.  The Homework Folder should be returned every day.  Please check to see that all work is completed. 

In addition to the daily homework, your child may bring home his/her “Bag-a-Book”. Please have your child read the book(s) with you and celebrate all that he/she has accomplished!

It is important that the “Bag-a-Book” be returned to school the following morning!  Books are shared among students.

As an additional incentive, your child may read at home for ten minutes each day. After reading for ten minutes, please ask your child to color one "monster" in his/her Reading Log. Reading Logs can be returned to school when a full page is completed. We will celebrate your child's success by adding a star to our "Star Readers" chart.  Other rewards will be given along the way!  Happy Reading!
