What is a Search Engine?
a computer program that searches documents, esp. on the World Wide Web, for a search term the user types in a search box. The search engine will then give the user a list of documents or websites in which the search term is found. Please try on of these KIDS' search engines!
Kiddle - Google's visual search engine for kids. It is run with Google’s SafeSearch and CustomSearch and you can read exactly how the results are filtered. Results 1-7 are handpicked and check by Kiddle editors.
Fact Monster - - Tons of fun info on topics from math to history to sports.KidRex - It is run on a combination of Google SafeSearch and Google Custom Search. SafeSearch screens keywords, phrases, and URLs from the search results. In addition to that, KidRex has its own database of inappropriate keywords and websites.Kid's Search - this site is designed for use in the classroom, in the library, and at home. All outbound links are screend using additional filters to Google Safe Search as well as community feedback.
