About The First Few Weeks of School:

Parents will receive more information about the first week of school shortly. Please remember that September 8th is the first day of school! Students should be logged on to their computers by 8:15am. Additionally, our fifth grade meet and greet is scheduled for September 11th at 2:15 pm.

In the first few weeks of school, we will be focused on establishing relationships and community, reviewing classroom rules and procedures, and setting ourselves up for success for this school year.

In writing, our first essay will be a personal narrative. While you have written a personal narrative before, in this unit we will learn new techniques and strategies to help you become an even stronger writer!

In science, our first unit is about the scientific method and engineering and design. You will also learn how to apply the steps of the engineering design process to create solutions to problems. Scientific problem-solving is really fun!
