Mrs. Dana Wallock
My name is Dana Wallock and I have been teaching third grade at Hillside Elementary school for 12 years. Prior to living in New Jersey, I taught in the Bronx at P.S. 95 and in Manhattan at P.S.9. I attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison for my undergraduate degree and went on to Lehman college for a masters in Elementary Education. I have enjoyed taking additional classes in Special Education and Guidance.
I grew up in the Bronx and lived in Manhattan for 6 years. After meeting my wonderful husband Keith, we relocated to New Jersey. I have a 8 year old son named Asher and a 3 year old son named Grayson.
From the time I was very young, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. My mother was an English Teacher and a Staff Developer, and my father was a Vice Principal. I can remember standing over my mother while she graded her papers and using my dolls to create a my own classroom. I was surrounded by wonderful teachers and I knew I wanted to make a difference in a child's life.
I believe that teaching is a collaborative effort between parents, teachers and staff. I am always here for you and your child. Looking forward to a great year!
