Nightly homework will be given to reinforce the curriculum being taught. If your child is having difficulty completing any assignment, please let me know so that I can review the concept in class.  Please help your child to remember to look at his/her agenda in order to make sure that he/she is prepared for the next day by having completed their nightly assignments.

The nightly homework usually consists of the following:

    Math Worksheet
    - This sheet is used to reinforce concepts or skills taught that day or to review a previous taught concept.  If your child is having a difficult time completing the assignment please send in a note or e-mail me so that I can help them to clarify the concept.

Reading Log  (20 min. a night)
Due Friday-This log will be used to help students keep track of the books they are reading both in school and at home.  This log will travel from school to home each day. It is important that this log be a true reflection of what your child is reading.  It is a tool that helps us to understand ourselves as a reader, make recommendations, and find books that will help us become stronger readers.

Fluency Sheet (Poem of the Week) Due Friday-Please have your child read the poem or text (given on Monday) to an adult to practice his or her fluency.  Kindly sign the sheet each time you listen to the poem.

High Frequency Word Quiz - Friday
A list of words will be provided on Monday.  Your child is expected to practice spelling these words each night and will be asked to spell them correctly on Friday.
