There is not regular homework assigned in kindergarten, although from time to time, children are asked to bring in something which will be used as a part of classroom learning the next day. Kindergartners are asked, however, to read every night with a parent. Sometimes, children can do the reading, but more often, parents do the reading, and children listen. Enjoy the rhythm, rhyme and humor of great books. Please talk about your books when the reading is done. Start your conversation with words like "I noticed", "I saw" or "I think" and see where you go from there. The more you talk about your reading, the more you absorb and comprehend.
