Community Meetings occur throughout the school year where the whole school participates in lessons on topics such as kindness, civility, mindfulness, growth mindset, and other topics related to social emotional learning. Groups are made up of students across grade levels and a staff member as their leader. Community meetings create a sense of community and allow the MPE students to build relationships with staff and students outside of their classroom or grade. Students will remain in their groups throughout their time at MPE; when our 5th graders transition on to MPMS, new kindergarteners will be welcomed into groups!
MPE students LOVE their community meeting time- they learn important lessons and have FUN! It is so great to see our older students take on a leadership role with the younger students in their group. We can't wait for another year of building community together!
