Make the Summer Reading Difference!
The summer months offer the perfect opportunity for students to relax and enjoy the many activities that he warm weather brings. It is also an excellent time to encurage and support your child to read for knowledge and enjoyment. In addition, summer reading maintains acquired language arts skills and supplorts reading development. Stufies have shown that children who read and continue to work on academic skills over the summer maintain and even advance in the skills developed during the school year.
At LPS, we have made literacy a priority at all grade levels. We need your help in ensuring that “our” children continue to read throughout the summer. Through sharing your reading life and being an example for your child, we partner together in encouraging and supporting our community goal of every child developing a love for reading.
Share the love of reading this summer! We encourage you to read to your child, have your child read to you, and support your child to read on their own.
