Below, you will find the most recent demographic studies and the Referendum Options that were presented to the Board on June 9, 2026. We will continue to add information to this page. August 20, 2026 Meeting Summary
Our goal for this communication is to give a recap of the public Board of Education meeting that was held on Thursday, August 20, 2026. The Board members and administration realize that the meeting recording is long and not everyone can always attend in person, but want to ensure community members receive this important information.
Before reviewing this board meeting summary, it’s important to understand that no final decisions have been made at this point.

Here’s a recap of the discussion at the Aug. 20 public meeting:
- The district is currently operating with 463 unhoused students. This number is predicted to rise to 1,116 by the 2030-2031 school year. Unhoused students are defined as the number of students enrolled in a district that exceeds the physical building’s functional capacity.
- The projects being presented are based upon the most recent demographer’s report from November 2025. The district is only permitted to utilize the current demographer's report; however, there are still other developments that are moving through the approval process that could bring more students.
- At the time of this report, the following developments have been approved: Equitable Property Ventures (28 residential units), Esplanade Livingston (160 multifamily units), Canterly Place (300 apartment units), Mosaic at Livingston (72 residences), 70 S. Orange Avenue (221 apartment units), 45 South Livingston Avenue District Redevelopment Plan (210 residential units in mixed-use residential and retail plan) and A&M Partnership development (71 residential units).
- Two additional sites have not yet received final approval at the time of the demographer’s report: the former Livingston Mall (350 units) and the former Lexus site.
- In addition to new housing units, enrollment growth has been noted due to turnover of existing homes. This increase is a result of new families moving into houses that were previously occupied by families with no children.
- The district is planning to add classroom additions to schools that would address these needs. The estimated costs for the project options being reviewed at this time are listed in the chart below.
- Construction cost: $175,364,750
- Project cost: $52,609,425
- Total referendum: $227,974,175
