LPS Spotlight: August 20, 2026

As we work together to plan for the future of our schools, community input and transparency are our top priorities. We have created a Referendum Resources webpage that will serve as the central repository for all official materials, data, and updates discussed during Board of Education meetings as we approach the upcoming referendum vote.

Currently on the page you will find the most recent demographic studies and the Referendum Options that were presented to the Board on June 9, 2026. We will continue to add information. We encourage all residents to explore these resources, stay informed, and engage with us throughout this collaborative process.

Parent Forms and Documents are available in the Genesis Portal. PLEASE NOTE that the forms must be filled out in order for parents and students to see teacher and schedule information when it is released this month.

Teacher assignments, student schedules, and bus stop information will be posted after 10AM on August 24, 2026. Parents will receive an email when schedules are posted. Please be sure you keep parent email addresses up to date in Genesis to receive district emails.

Starting with the 2026–2027 school year, all public schools in New Jersey are required by state law to implement strict policies limiting student cell phone and smart device use during the school day.

Following LPS BOE 5330 - Administration of Medication, parents must provide a written order from the physician to the school indicating the reason for the medication, time (or circumstances) to be given, starting and finishing dates, amount to be given, and the physician’s name.  New for the 2026-2027 school year, Livingston Public Schools requires doctors’ notes for ALL over-the-counter non-prescription medications, such as Tylenol, Advil, Motrin, Tums, cough drops, etc., to be dispensed. Parents are required to supply the medication to the school nurse. Please understand that no exceptions can be made to this policy. Medication forms are available from the LPS Health Services webpage.

Welcome to ParentSquare! We have adopted a new communication platform called ParentSquare to bring all school notifications into one centralized place. Whether you prefer email, text, web, or the ParentSquare app, you can now receive messages exactly how you want them, with automatic translation into your preferred language.

Important Next Steps for Parents: Your account has already been created, and if you have not yet registered we will continue to send out activation emails periodically throughout the school year. Please note that while you will continue to receive standard communications from the school regardless, we highly encourage you to log in using the email info to take full advantage of this all-in-one platform!

Once logged in, you can verify your contact info, download the app, and customize your notification settings. Thank you for your continued partnership as we launch these exciting new tools!

If your child has a technical issue with their account or device over the summer, we have setup Helpdesk Support hours throughout the summer.

Please make sure you or your child opens a helpdesk support ticket for the issue, as this will expedite the technician's support.

Please note the location for ALL helpdesk support will be in the Livingston High School Media Center at 30 Robert Harp Drive. When you arrive at the front entrance of the building, you will need to call the main office in order to be let in (the phone number is posted on the door).

LTV, Livingston, NJ's community access television channel, can be found on cable television via Comcast (Channel 34) and Verizon (Channels 26 and 28). Additionally, LTV can now be found online at www.LivingstonTV.org, which provides a live stream of the cable channel plus numerous shows available to watch ON-DEMAND! LTV is operated by the Livingston Public Broadcasting Committee, a group of volunteers (adults and high school students) who recognize all the good that Livingston has to offer; have an interest in television programming, production, operations and marketing; and give their time toward promoting local information, entertainment, and education to all members of the Livingston community!
