LPS families, please take a quick moment to review two key policy updates taking effect this school year:
1. CELL PHONE & SMART DEVICE POLICY
In accordance with new New Jersey state law, LPS is implementing a "bell-to-bell" device expectation.
NEW RULES: All personal devices, including phones, smartwatches, smart eyewear and earbuds, must be turned off and stored away from the first bell to final dismissal.
THE GOAL: Reduce classroom distractions, boost student engagement, protect mental health, and foster face-to-face connection!
2. MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION POLICY (LPS BOE 5330)
To keep all students safe, strict guidelines remain in place for both prescription and non-prescription meds.
WHAT'S NEW: A doctor’s order is now required for ALL over-the-counter medications (including Tylenol, Advil, Motrin, Tums, cough drops, etc.) AND parents must supply all medication directly to the school nurse. No exceptions can be made.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our schools safe, healthy, and focused on learning!
