District Information Sheet

As of October 5, 2026, there are 6,255 students enrolled in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12, as follows:
PK to Grade 5 - 2,697; Mt. Pleasant Middle – 490; Heritage – 1048; Livingston High School – 2020.

To ensure the safety of our students, parents should report their child's absence or tardiness through the Genesis Parent Portal before their child's school day begins.

Students living further from school than the following walking distances are eligible for transportation provided by Livingston Public Schools: Grades K-8, more than 2 miles; grades 9-12, more than 2 ½ miles. Subscription bus service is offered subject to availability. For further information, please call the transportation department at (973) 535-8000 ext. 8027.

GENESIS PARENT/GUARDIAN ACCESS: All registered families will receive a User Name (primary email address in our student database) and Password to access the Genesis Parent Portal. The Genesis Parent Portal is where you will receive important information, such as attendance and report cards. You can also manage your contact information, including your email addresses and phone numbers. Any District forms that need to be completed or acknowledged will be available on the Genesis Parent Portal.

GENESIS STUDENT ACCESS: Grades 6-12: Each student in grades 6-12 will be given a school network ID, password, and email address.

COMMUNICATION:

• PARENTSQUARE: Our district uses ParentSquare as our main communication tool to keep families informed, connected, and engaged. With ParentSquare, you can receive school and district announcements, view upcoming events, and choose how you want to receive notifications (email, text, or app push notifications). MY SCHOOL BUCKS (MSB): The district uses MSB to process payments for Lunch Service, Technology, Athletics/Activities, and other miscellaneous charges, such as media fines.
