Grade 6 Device Information
Chromebooks will be distributed on Friday, September 27th. Be sure both student and parent have completed all required forms in the Genesis portals, as well as payment of the usage fee ($30) for the device through MySchoolBucks, or you may mail in or bring a check.
The Livingston Public School District is pleased to inform you about our 1:1 device program at Mt. Pleasant Middle School. Every 6th grade student will receive a Chromebook, charger and case that will be used to foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, both in school and at home. Your child will be using this tool for instruction, assignments, projects, research and assessment throughout the day. We anticipate the distribution of these devices will take place during the school day sometime in late September/beginning of October after students have become comfortable navigating the middle school environment and have completed a program on digital citizenship and device responsibility.
In preparation for the 6th grade distribution of devices, please see the information below.
All students entering Grade 6 will also be given access to the Genesis Student Portal. This portal is similar to the Genesis Parent Portal and your son/daughter will need to sign in using their network credentials and complete any of the required forms. The Genesis Student Portal is available at https://students.livingston.org.
In order to be eligible to receive their Chromebook, all students and parents must access, complete and submit all required documents in the Genesis Portal when it becomes available beginning August 5th, 2019 after 3pm.
