Welcome from the Interim Superintendent
-
I want to personally welcome you to the Livingston Public Schools website. I hope you will take the time to explore the information contained on this website. I am confident that you will enjoy learning about our outstanding district. The mission of the Livingston Public Schools is, “Empowering all to learn, create, contribute, and grow.” The faculty, staff, students, and administration work to live that mission each day. Our approximately 6,000 students attend six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. Our ratio of fifteen pupils to one teacher allows Livingston to truly know each of our students, and to successfully differentiate learning experiences to meet their specific needs. Nearly 80% of our faculty hold a master’s degree or higher, and about 66% of our certified staff have worked in the district for five years or more. From academics to athletics and the arts, Livingston Public Schools has been recognized with awards and accolades. This is due to our outstanding students who excel at the highest levels in many different areas.
Our work as educators is bolstered by a highly supportive community that strongly values education, and is consistently willing to ensure resources are available to maintain state-of-the art facilities, a cutting-edge academic program, and extracurricular clubs and organizations that engage students beyond the classroom. Our diverse and inclusive school community provides an environment ripe for creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem solving. Our alumni leave Livingston ready to change the world in college and beyond. We consistently reflect, and look for new ways to innovate, evolve, and make learning even more engaging, interesting, and enjoyable. As you click through the information on this site, I believe it will become clear why we are so proud to be Lancers!Dr. Daniel Fishbein
