Hybrid Meeting Information
At its meeting on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, the Livingston Board of Education (LBOE) confirmed that it will begin holding in-person public meetings at the Board’s Administrative Office, 11 Foxcroft Drive, effective Tuesday, October 12, 2021. In addition, the LBOE outlined the procedures that will be in place in order to conduct safe and efficient meetings in consideration of physical space constraints and recommended COVID-19 protocols.
While registration for in-person attendance at LBOE meetings will be limited to the first 20 individuals who sign-up, the Board will continue to allow members of the public to participate virtually via webinar. In addition, the public will still be able to view a livestream of the meeting on the district’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/LivSchools.
In-person attendees will be required to show valid identification (such as a driver’s license) and either a copy of their COVID-19 vaccination card, or documentation of negative results from a COVID-19 PCR test administered within 48-hours prior to the meeting, to gain entrance to the Administrative Office. Those who attend in-person must wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose while in the building.
Any individual who is not willing to comply with these masking rules prior to entrance or while in the meeting will not be permitted to enter the facility or remain in the meeting in-person.
In-Person Registration Details:
An in-person registration form will be available to the public one week prior to the scheduled meeting date. If a new LBOE meeting is scheduled and advertised with less than one week’s notice, registration will open simultaneously with the advertising of said meeting.
The registration form will be sent to the community via email, as well as posted on the district website, www.livingston.org. The first 20 registrants will be allowed to attend the meeting in-person. All registrants in excess of 20 will be placed on a waiting list and contacted if space becomes available. Registrants will be notified of their status via email.
On the form, registrants will be asked to attest that they will not attend a Board meeting if they have tested positive or been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or if they are experiencing certain COVID-19 related symptoms. Members of the public who register to attend in person and arrive at an LBOE meeting with any of the conditions mentioned on the form may be excluded from the meeting.
Security personnel will be present to monitor the flow of traffic, ensure compliance with COVID-19 protocols, and verify the required identification and vaccination documentation.
These new meeting guidelines are outlined in Policy #0167.1, which was reviewed by the Board during its meeting on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. The Board will vote on the policy at its meeting on October 12, 2021.
