The results of Livingston Public Schools' (LPS) equity audit were presented during the Board of Education's public meeting on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
Earlier this year, the district worked to identify a high-quality, expert equity auditing firm to conduct a third-party equity audit. The Board of Education approved the Rowan University Partnership for Educational Equity and Research (PEER) Lab dba a2z Equity Coaching, Inc. to complete this task. The audit work began in May and continued for six months.
The audit was conducted as part of the recently established LPS Equity Goal, which seeks to improve the culture and community with LPS by “enhancing inclusiveness, cultural awareness, anti-racism and acceptance of individual differences through mandated curricular programming, extracurricular programming, and district operations.”
