LPS follows a “soft borders” policy. This means that elementary students will be placed in the closest school that has availability at the time of registration.

The Livingston Board of Education follows State guidelines in providing free transportation for children in grades K-8 who live more than two miles from school and for children in grades 9-12 who live more than 2½ miles from school.

LPS does not provide an after-school childcare program for elementary school students. The JCC of Metrowest (973-530-3400) program provides transportation to their facility. The YMCA in Livingston (973-992-7500) runs an after-school hours program on the school premises. JPlay of Temple B'nai Abraham (973-994-3950) offers transportation to their facility. Please contact each directly for more information.
