    Dear Parents,

The students at Harrison Elementary School will once again be participating in PAJAMA DAY, another opportunity for children learn the importance of helping others in need. As in the past, this year’s event will be held in conjunction with our winter indoor yoga birthday walk and is scheduled for Thursday, February 11, 2016. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be the recipient of all proceeds.

This fundraiser is particularly exciting and meaningful because we are honoring one of our own Harrison students. Drew Gassman is a fifth grader who has been fighting leukemia for the past two years. He continues to do well and we are thrilled to dedicate our PJ Day to Drew and his family.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.

Faculty and students are invited to wear their pajamas to school. Appropriate pajamas (tops and bottoms) are to be worn: NO nightgowns. Don’t forget to bring your slippers and sneakers/boots for outside! Each participant is asked to make a monetary donation in any amount. Checks should be made out to “Leukemia and Lymphoma Society”.

Our birthday walks present another great opportunity to teach your children the joys of helping others. Thank you in advance for caring and participating.

Please do no hesitate to call me with any questions you may have.

    Sincerely,
